This straw hat features artificial fruit on the brim and a silk interior lining. Hats such as this, with wide brims and unique embellishments, were very popular in the early 20th century. Because of the materials used, this hat was most likely worn during the summer months to keep cool. The wide brim, which would have protected the wearer's face from the sun, also suggest that this hat was worn during the summer.
