This tan felt hat was made by M. M. Company and was Bright Finish. In the late 1800s, women's hats were very elaborate and displayed decorations such as ribbons, feathers, lace, and flowers. This hat is a very simple and modest example of the styles worn during this time period. This style of hat was mostly likely worn with a hairstyle of large curls or chignons at the neck.
