A boxed set of toy, plastic Lego building blocks (No. 205) originally comprised of 205 pieces and consisting of colorful plastic interlocking bricks. The bricks can be used to construct an array of items and then taken apart in order to construct other items including buildings, vehicles, etc. This set is a product of the Samsonite Corporation under a licensing agreement with Lego Group of Billund, Denmark. This set is comprised of 185 bricks of the original total of 205.
The Lego Group began in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christensen (1891–1958), a carpenter from Billund, Denmark, who began making wooden toys in 1932. In 1934, his company came to be called "Lego", derived from the Danish phrase leg godt, which means "play well". In 1949 the company began manufacturing plastic blocks.The modern Lego brick design was patented on 28 January 1958.
TOYS! (2018 – 2020) This GRPM original exhibit featured toys and games from the museum’s collections in meticulously crafted displays representing childhood in different eras. This interactive, multi-generational exhibition of toys and games is sure to rekindle childhood memories and spark the creation of new ones.
