Of all the breweries that make up "Beer City United States", Founders is arguable the most popular and iconic. While this artifact itself isn't particularly special or unique, but what the shirt is advertising is special. Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) is one of Founders most special beers that they offer. Not only is the taste which is well regarded by numerous beer rating websites and journals, but Founders only limits when they sell KBS. Founders produces around 460,000 barrels of beer yet only 5,000 will be KBS. This limit release creates a huge frenzy when Founders announces the release of KBS. There are lines of people who wait out in March weather waiting for their box of KBS. Local places such as The B.O.B. have KBS on tap for one night a year and will have it until its gone. The beer also has received a score of 100 from Beer Advocate, one of the most credited sites for beer rating, which gives Founders global recognition. Beer like KBS from Founders is one of many recent beers and breweries that lead to the explosion of breweries in Grand Rapids.
