Description:
Rectangular heavy paper poster depicts a four member band on stage with the words "Soul of the City" written on the drum. There is a crowd of people standing on the group in the foreground. Some members of crowd have their backs to the viewer, the others are turned facing the viewer. The faces in the crowd and the band are a mixture of Black, White, Asian, and Hispanic.;This piece was made for the Soul of the City festival. The mission of this festival is to celebrate the African-American culture and introduce it's culture, music and arts to other people of the area. This piece addresses one of the themes we have identified for the Ethnic History Exhibit: Can We Maintain Our Identity and Still Be American?;Printed on the lower right corner of the poster ids "Laureen 2002"
