This side chair is painted black and has a flat crest rail with stiles that are rounded at the top. It also has a horizontal splat and a square seat made of rush. It stands on four legs that taper at the ends and is supported by a box stretcher with an extra stretcher on either side and on the front. The frame of the chair features gold-painted highlights throughout.
