Description:
This brown two-piece suit, also called a victory suit consists of a jacket and skirt and is made of rayon. The jacket has three plastic buttons down the center front and two flap pockets on the lower portion of the front. There is an interior label in the jacket that reads "J. Johnson & Sons, Inc., New Haven". The skirt has a metal Talon zipper on the proper left side of the skirt. Features that are indicative of the 1940s are the suit style, the sharp angles, and simple style. This victory suit was worn by the donor's mother, Ruth B. Hoxsie.
