Description:
This tweed suit consists of a jacket and skirt. The jacket has a collar with lapels. The long sleeves have buttons at the cuffs that are made of vegetable ivory. The same buttons can be seen down the center front of the jacket. Features that indicate this suit is from the early 1900s are the mannish tailoring, the lapels, and the buttons on the cuffs.
This suit was made by Carlzen H O & Co. of Grand Rapids. They wer a Ladies' Tailors and Drapers shop. According to museum records, this suit was accompanied by a blouse and belt. The images will be added as we inventory the collection.
