Description:
This black two-piece dress is made of silk. The boned bodice has a standing collar and is surrounded by lace. There is embroidery throughout the bodice and crocheted buttons can be seen down the center front. This dress has leg of mutton sleeves. The bustled skirt has draping fabric at the back and embroidery throughout. There are box pleats at the hem. Features that are indicative of the 1870s are the bustled skirt, the narrow waist, and the leg of mutton sleeves.
