Description:

This wooden cradleboard, called a dikinaagan, was given to the donor's aunt, Mary Angelina Gilbert, and was previously used to cradle three generations of Native Americans. The upper portion is decoratively carved with heart-shaped and scalloped perforations and double curves. A hoop and footboard are attached using a rawhide thong and nails.
