This dress jacket is from the United States Army of the United States Armed Forces. It was worn by Brigadier General Louis C. Covell of Grand Rapids, Michigan during the Spanish-American War of 1898. 

This dress jacket has fringed epaulets and is accompanied by a sword and belt.
