Description:

These logging boots were reproduced from a pair of French Canadian logger's boots at the Muskegon County Museum. Made by Janis A. Soks, a Latvian cobbler in Grand Rapids, they have steel spikes called calks on the bottom. Boots like these were commonly worn by people in the timber and lumber industry as the spikes provided better traction.
