Cast iron banks, made popular for their whacky shapes and bright coloring, made their debut in the lat 19th Century. These banks succeeded teaching children the fun and value of saving their penny and have no emerged as unique collector's items.
This bank, modeled after a Home Savings Bank building, was created for a city series by the A.C. Williams Novelty Company.
