Description:
This cane sword, also known as a swordstick, is made of black wood and has a curved handle as well as a metal collar and ferrule. It also has a concealed blade of 25.5 inches with a few floral engravings near the hilt. In the 18th and 19th century, it was becoming less acceptable for men to openly carry a sword. Many men who were skilled in swordsmanship still wished to carry one for self-defense therefore, the cane sword was invented. These specialized canes allowed the weapon to stay concealed while also staying easily accessible.
