This is a small wrought iron betty lamp.;The "betty" lamp is believed to have originated in the Alpine regions of Europe during the 16th century, and continued to be used as late as the 19th century in America. It is distinguished by its long oval shape and hinged lid, as well as its ability to burn almost any type of grease or oil.
