Description:
Carved stone statue of a boar laying on its side.;The boar is a burial object dating to the Zhou dynasty (1027-771 BC). Such items were put in graves during burial rights to supply the deceased with items necessary for the afterlife. Elites generally used jade objects, while people of lower standing used substitute minerals such as serpentine. Questionable authenticity, the breaks in the material are strange if it is jade (which is very strong.)
