This 5-ply orgone energy accumulator was created around 1989 by Orgonics in Berkeley, California, and also contains shooter-charger box 2022.125.1.2 which acts as a seat when used inside the accumulator.The walls of the orgone accumulator are made of five layers of combined wool batting and steel wool which helped create and hold orgone energy. The inside is lined with sheets of galvanized steel and the chest/leg board in the center assisted users in irradiating their chest, legs, and abdomen. The orgone accumulator was designed for users to sit inside to absorb the orgone energy collected from the surrounding atmosphere. According to Orgonics, when the concentrated atmospheric energy comes into contact with the user's energy field, they react to create an even stronger charge which is then absorbed by the body, causing an improvement in health and wellness.
Orgone energy, a concept of a universal life force in the atmosphere, was proposed by Dr. Wilhelm Reich in 1939. Reich, who believed orgone energy could improve physical health and prevent disease, created his first orgone energy accumulator in 1940. In 1947, Harper's Magazine and The New Republic published an article criticizing Reich and orgone energy, referencing believers as the "Reich Cult". Concerned that the claims of health benefits from orgone energy were fraudulent, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) began investigating Reich. In 1954, a court ordered the destruction of all orgone energy accumulators, parts, and instructions and prohibited Reich from producing or selling more. In 1956, he broke the injunction, resulting in two years of imprisonment and the incineration of any materials mentioning orgone. Six tons of books, journals, and papers were destroyed, marking the event as one of the most extreme cases of censorship in the United States.

Orgonics was founded by Theirrie Cook in 1988 in California. Cook began her career in orgone accumulator construction in the 1970s while working with Myron Sharaf who was an associate of Wilhelm Reich, founder of orgone energy. She has a Bachelor's in Psychology and was associated with the Orgone Biophysical Research Lab for 11 years while researching orgone accumulators and cloudbusting.
