This motor vehicle first aid kit is from World War II (1939-1945) and was standard issue in all U. S. Army motor vehicles. It is a green metal box with the words "First Aid | For Emergency Use Only" across the top in white as well as the U. S. Army Medical Corps logo in the center surrounded by the words "U.S. Army Medical Department". It was used by Robert Hall, a United States Navy pharmacist's mate, during World War II to treat injured Marines in the Asian/Pacific area.

In September of 1942, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served as a Pharmacist's Mate, 2nd class in the hospital corps in 1943, and by 1945, he was in the 5th amphibious corps treating injured Marines.
