Identifier:

Description:
A pair of men's jeans. They are an example of denim made using cotton and natural indigo dye. In the past, leaves from indigo plants (indigofera tinctoria) were a main source of dye that created this color. Today almost all clothing is dyed with a synthetic indigo. These are an example of the continued use of the natural dye, a tradition that continues in Japan where this fabric was made. The natural Indigo dye derived from fermenting the indigofera plant to create the mid blue color tone. They were made by the Canadian brand Naked and Famous Denim using the Japanese dyed denim.
