Description:
This white hooded sweatshirt is made of cotton and polyester and features hand-cut and hand-sewn leather patches. It was created by Grand Rapids artist and designer Reginald James in support of the Black Lives Matter movement following the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer on May 25th, 2020. The names Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery are in leather down both sleeves and the back of the hoodie features a large leather patch with Geoge Floyd's likeness surrounded by images of other Black people whose deaths have sparked outrage throughout the county and galvanized support for Black Lives Matter.

Reginald James, owner of RegJames Klothing Company, is an artist, designer, and sewing and design instructor from Grand Rapids, Michigan. His designs originally featured Black leaders such as Nelson Mandela and Rosa Parks but in the wake of George Floyd's murder in 2020, he began designing clothing in support of Black victims of violence such as Breonna Taylor and Patrick Lyoya. Gildan Activewear Inc. was founded in Canada in 1984 by Greg and Glen Chamandy. The company was originally founded to make fabric for Harley Inc. which was the childrenswear business owned by the family. After Gildan began to see success, Harley Inc. was closed by 1994 in order to put all focus and efforts into Gildan. The company specializes in undecorated t-shirts, activewear, and fleeces which are then often decorated by screen-printing companies. Currently, the company employs over 42,000 people and owns and operates manufacturing facilities in Rio Nance, Honduras, and the Caribbean.
