Automobile Tiller

Description:
This tiller is from the donor's first car and was used as a steering mechanism prior to the introduction of the steering wheel on automobiles in 1894. Packard introduced steering wheels on the second car they manufactured in 1899 and from there, they began to replace tiller controls.
