O'Brien, Carl Mapes, Charles Greenway, Claude Hamilton and Robert Irwin presenting a fine marquetry panel to President Calvin Coolidge as an invitation for the President to visit Grand Rapids on the occassion of the 100th Furniture Market. The photograph was taken on the White House lawn.
Accompanying the photograph is a framed, typed description of the invitation proceedings.
Grand Rapids Furniture Museum (donor) The Grand Rapids Furniture Museum opened in 1936 and was located at 427 Fulton Street. In 1959, the Museum closed and its collection was transferred to the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Calvin Coolidge (is related to) Calvin Coolidge(July 4, 1872 – January 5, 1933) was an American politician and lawyer who served as the 30th president of the United States from 1923 to 1929.
