This monument stands near the very center of Grand Rapids in a triangular park made up of Monroe Center St, Fulton, and Division. It was dedicated to the soldiers from Kent County who lost their lives in the Civil War.The monument has undergone multiple renovations and repairs in 1959, 2004, and 2014.
