Description:
This campaign hat is from a cavalry riding uniform from the United States Army of the United States Armed Forces. It was worn by George M. Chapman of Grand Rapids, Michigan during World War I while serving at Fort Sam Houston in Texas from 1917 to 1919. 

This campaign hat is made of olive drab felt and features a yellow cord around the base of the crown that represents the cavalry. It accompanies uniform number 1998.35.7a-b.
