Description:
The fichu was a quintessential accessory for women beginning in the 18th century to the 19th century. It was worn for decoration and was draped around the shoulders and sometimes tied, fastened or pinned at the front. This fine cotton, lace fichu was likely worn along with some of the day dresses that were given with this donation from the Kutsche family.
