This black wedding dress is made of chiffon and has a silk underlayer. The long sleeves are unlined and there is draped chiffon from the proper right shoulder to the waist. This dress also has a velvet band around the waist as well as a velvet covered buckle on the proper left side. The skirt is asymmetrical. Features that are indicative of this time period are the tubular silhouette, the dropped waist, and the lightweight fabric.
This wedding dress was worn by the donor's mother Iva Mae (Schank) Hosler when she married Frank Hosler from Eastport, Michigan.
