Description:
This black cap is made of felt and has a brim. It has gold letters on the front that read "Furniture City". There is also an image of a lyre. This cap was worn by Vandiver Lewis Bell who was a local musician and part of the Furniture City Band.

Frank originally sold merchandise such as swords and regalia under his own name. This lasted until he formed a partnership with Theron F. Giddings in 1871. The company was renamed Henderson and Giddings Company but reverted back to Frank Henderson in 1873. Henderson Ames Company was formed in 1893 and kept the name until 1923. It was later bought in 1925 by M.C. Lilley and Company and the name was changed to The Lilley Company. The name was changed again in 1931 to Lilley-Ames Company.
