Small cardboard box of yellow School Smart dustless chalkboard chalk. Contains 12 pieces of chalk.;The items in the accession came from Saint Andrew's Catholic School in Grand Rapids. They are remnants found by Museum staff within the building just prior to its demolition in early 2011. They items may help the Museum interpret the story of this particular building, the Catholic Diocese, historic preservation, or even the changing face of Grand Rapids neighborhoods.;The items in the accession were acquired by Museum staff by walking through St. Andrews School the day before it was closed to prepare for demolition. They were found throughout the school, in offices, classrooms, and basements.;Built in 1874, Saint Andrew's School was the oldest Catholic school in Grand Rapids when it was torn down in 2011.
