This light source is intended to work with the accompanying camera unit and monitor to allow surgeons a clear picture of their patient. This unit includes a light cable to connect it to the camera unit.;For enhanced surgical visualization, the Stryker X7000 Light Source complements the Stryker 1088 Camera by enhancing its picture with clean, pure light. This maximizes the ability of Stryker surgical procedures.;This item was given by Stryker to support the development of an exhibit about the Healthcare Industry in West Michigan.;Dr. Homer Stryker started creating medical equipment in Kalamazoo in the 1930s for one simple reason: to improve patient care. From his earliest inventions like the "walking heel" and "cast cutter" displayed here, through a variety of orthopaedic implants, to the modern marvels of craniomaxillofacial care and vertebral augmentation, this has remained the company's goal. The Camera Shop was formed in 1908 by Walter K. Schmidt (1865-1938) to provide photo supplies to the Grand Rapids, Kent County Michigan community. He retained ownership of the Camera Shop until 1936. All of the known photographs which carry the Camera Shop markings come from the era of Schmidt’s ownership. The Grand Rapids Public Museum and the Grand Rapids Public Library have photographs from the Camera Shop in their collections. The Camera Shop (donor)
