Sally Victor was a prominent millinery business that was established in 1934 by Sally Victor.
Sally Josephs Victor was born in 1905 in Pennsylvania. She started her career at the age of 18 working in the millinery department in Macy's. By 1927 she was the chief millinery buyer at Bamberger & Company. That same year she married Sergiu F. Victor who was a hat manufacturer. She soon became the head designer at his firm and in 1934 she established her own millinery business under her own name. Her business was located on East 53rd Street and New York. Her business became one of the largest hat companies in the United States and her hats sold at high-end stores such as Lord & Taylor. The business closed when she retired in 1967. Sally passed away 10 years later. Jeff Dixon (donor)
