Description:
Ax with steel head and tang connected to steel socket on end of wood shaft. The head has a large, curved hook on one side, and a concave cutting edge on the other. The shaft is decorated with various bands of geometric patterns, and has a small metal cap on the end.;This is a head ax, a weapon carried by the Igorot people of the mountainous regions of the northern Philippines. They were used in blood feuds by local peoples to behead enemies: the hook on the ax was used to pull the victim's head forward, after which it was severed with the cutting edge.
