There are nearly 1.8 million anglers in Michigan, yet our collection includes very little fishing tackle. While there are some simple fish hooks already in our collection, none include the product packaging as these do.;1) St. Claire snelled hooks 1X central draft single gut size 8 high quality spring steel tested hooks selected snells waterproofed wrapping guaranteed not to ravel.;Michigan's Department of Natural Resources estimates that nearly 1.8 million anglers spend more than 1.5 billion dollars each year. These hooks represent this important activity. They were found in the Lindberg Gun Shop installation in the old Gaslight Village installation at 54 Jefferson SE (now demolished). Lindberg Gun Shop was a family-owned business whose contents were acquired in 1958. While these hooks weren't included in the original catalog for this acquisition, the catalog does include snelled hooks on a card. Even if these particular hooks aren't from the Gun Shop, the Gun Shop certainly did contain hooks like these.
