Description:
This skirt is made of purple felt and is trimmed with purple silk ribbon. It has a zipper down the center back of the waist and a pocket on either side of the waist.
After the yardage restrictions of and masculine silhouettes of WWII, fashions of the late 1950s excelled in their use of fabrics and ultrafeminine designs. The very full felt circle skirt became 'the' fashion statement for teens and young women in the early 1950s. Many were made of felt and were often decorated with felt appliques of animals, especially the poodle.
