Description:
Four cups with four saucers, sugar bowl with lid. Cups are vasiform shaped with attached handles; sugar bowl is vasiform shaped with foot and crimped lip, and domed lid with center finial and crimped lip. Glaze is cream-tan, with brown, blue and green decorations. Decorations are different on each cup and saucer pair.;This set is an example of an informal or folk craft in Poland. It is significant to the Museum because it demonstrates what was important for one Grand Rapids emmigrant from Poland to bring as a remembrance of her home country.;Bottom of each piece is stamped with maker's marks, which are illiegible.;Brought from Poland to Grand Rapids by Wilma Bushewicz when she immigrated to America in 1962.

Robert C. Bushewicz was born in Michigan on July 9th, 1917. He served in World War I in the Pacific Theatre and was a member of the Polish Heritage Society, the American Legion Post 356, and the Grand Valley Artist Association. He worked at the Grand Rapids Public Museum as the Museum Artist and Chief Preparator of Exhibits from 1961 until his retirement in 1980. Bushewicz passed away on June 21st, 2008, and was buried at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
