Description:
This eight-piece dress blue uniform is from the United States Marine Corps of the United States Armed Forces. It was worn by Roland Lindh of Grand Rapids, Michigan from 1989-1990 during the Persian Gulf War.
This uniform consists of eight pieces that include a black wool jacket, a white detachable collar, a belt, a white dacron polyester and cotton shirt, blue cotton trousers, barracks cover number 2002.12.2, suspenders number 2002.12.3, and gloves number 2002.12.4. The jacket has Marine Corps Officer collar devices and there are 1st Lieutenant rank insignias on the epaulets. There are also ribbons and medals on the proper left breast that are as follows: a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, a National Defense Service Medal, a Southwest Asia Service Medal with a service star, a Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, a Rifle Sharpshooter Medal, and a Pistol Expert Medal. The trousers also display blood stripes on the outer seams.

Mr. Roland Lindh, a Grand Rapids resident and Calvin College graduate, was an officer with the United States Marine Corps during the late 1980s and early 1990s. During his service Mr. Lindh was stationed with a forward supply unit in the Middle East as part of the Persian Gulf War of 1989-90 (operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield).
