Pin backed bronze title plate with maltese cross medallion suspended by blue ribbon. Medallion includes central image of woman shaking hands with a soldier while allegorical female looks on. Scene flanked by flags. Girl or woman comforts a child at the feet of the allegorical female, between the handshaking pair.;From a collection of related material from one family that reflects military service, veterans activities and women's support of war efforts over successive wars, including SAW, WWI and WWII;Pin: 'CONDUCTOR' Medallion: 'WOMANS RELIEF CORPS 1883';Once owned by donor's grandparents, Geo. W. and Ethel Galbreath Bowen. It's presumed that either Ethel or the mother of Ethel or George was the original owner.
