Native American - Northeast and Southeast Woodland ➔ Creel

Identifier:
1999.43.1
Description:

This creel was made and used by Fred Gasco, owner of Creels for Sale in Harbor Springs, Michigan. It is made of varnished black ash, with two bands of darker weavers on the sides, a dark accent rim in a traditional fly fishing creel form, with leather strapping. It is an excellent example of an adaptation of traditional Anishinaabe techniques and materials to a Euro-American style.
