Description:
A human skeleton in a glass display case.

The donor commissioned the creation of an exhibit that would show through actual implants on a human skeleton all of the possible replacements now devised to keep a body functioning. Many of the replacements were developed here in Grand Rapids by Dr. Alfred Swanson, and his orthopaedic research staff at Blodgett Memorial Hospital Center. The words "Clay Adams | Parsippany, NJ" are stamped onto the proper left ilium.
