Description:

This is the flag for the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. It reads “Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa & Chippewa Indians” with an image of an eagle landing on a tree branch in the center. There is additional writing on the flag that reads “In talking with my elders, they would say, ‘When you’re old enough you do what you can for your people.’ That speaks of tribality, that speaks of belonging to a community and giving back, or sharing.' - Henry (Tiq) Bush, South Bend”.
