Gd Rapids-
My Dear Capt.
I enclose you copy of the Joint Resolution which has passed both branches of the Legislature and yesterday was signed by Gov. Bliss. Can you get any prices and designs from your stone men. The members of the legislature with whome I talked thought the base should be of same material. Can we find any stone here in Mich suitable for its base. How would it do to have it placed in position next year and have our next reunion (1902) in Lansing and hold a dedicating service. These are questions and suggestions upon which I would like your opinion.
Thanking you for the histories you have written and to help rendered. I am
yours in F.C. & L.
