According to the Grand Rapids Press (Feb 13, 1959), Maple Grove had a workshop where items such as stools and furnishings were created as part of a rehabilitation program. This cradle was likely made at Maple Grove.
Kent County Poor Farm,used to be located south of Grand Rapids on 32nd St. between Breton and Kalamazoo. The Poor Farm would later become Maple Grove Medical Hospital until the late 1960s when the facility was closed and everything was transferred to Kent Community Hospital (or what is now Spectrum Health Continuing Care).
