Description:
This dress of blue satin has satin brocade on the center front of the boned bodice, on the upper half of the demi-gigot sleeves, and around the skirt. It also has a standing collar that features two satin flowers on either side and the bodice has a decorative embellishment on the proper left side at the waist. The skirt is gathered at the back using cartridge pleats. Features that indicate this dress is from the late 19th century are the standing collar, the boned bodice, the demi-gigot sleeves, and the narrow waist. 

According to museum records, this dress is a wedding dress, however, there is no indication that it was worn as a wedding dress.
