Description:
This wool wedding dress features a lace overlay on the shoulder caps and shoulder-puff sleeves. The silk yoke is ruched with beading and displays satin flowers. The bodice is boned and has a standing collar. The skirt has cartridge pleating at the center back. Features that indicate this is a 1890s dress are the flared skirt and puff sleeves, the narrow and boned bodice, the standing collar, and the gathering at the back of the skirt. 

This wedding dress was worn by the donor, Mrs. Herbert Van Antwerp (nee Marie Freda Deffinger) when she married Herbert Adelbert Van Antwerp on December 31st, 1895.
