Description:

An ordinary chondrite (stony meteorite), low in iron (L group) and petrologic type 4, with abundant chondrules and a friable, unconsolidated matrix.

This fall was witnessed on October 6, 1918 throughout the northern counties of Saratov Oblast, Russia. 

Two large fragments, each weighing around 500 kilograms (1102 pounds), were later recovered near the village of Dongus in Volsky District and a settlement near Petrovsky.
