Souvenirs ➔ Picture, Bluebird Program

This hanging clay picture of a bluebird relates to the Bluebird Program. This was a program for young girls that helped to train them for becoming Camp Fire Girls, a co-ed youth organization that started in the US. The group is now officially called Camp Fire and their programs include small group experiences, after-school programs, camping and environmental education, child care and service learning. This was a gift to Deanna Morse of Grand Rapids, Michigan from her Bluebird leader, Mrs. Beers and the back includes the date of April 18, 1958. It is significant because it documents an important organization that has touched the lives of many young American boys and girls.
