Description:

An ordinary chondrite (stony meteorite), high in iron (H group) and petrologic type 5, with a weathering grade of W0 and a shock stage of S1.

This meteorite is extremely friable, with a whitish-colored matrix, and does have a fusion crust.

The fall was witnessed on July 10, 1899, a little after 8 am, near Allegan, Michigan.

The meteor’s mass is estimated at 70 pounds, with the largest specimen recovered being 62.5 pound, found on Thomas Hill along Saugatuck Road
